i used to be a missionary, in albania. now i live at home. a friend of mine points out from time to time that this is God's mission for me now. i'm coming to accept this. thank God for it. may He help me through it, and to do it well.

productivity
A woman with dementia is an interesting entity- especially a strong woman with dementia. It is a matter of combining the strength and determinism of an adult with the impulsive whims and stubborn desires of a child. My mother is restless- today is a day off, and my usual battle with lethargy is compounded by the difficulties of being productive around a restless mother. While trying to clean she second guesses each item i try to throw away, asking to see it herself. She comes downstairs repeatedly, itching to go somewhere, but not sure where. Were i willing we could drive repeatedly from a to be all day, and she would be happy. i claim i would not be productive then, though, and don't do it. How productive am i now though, really. i'm writing a blog instead of cleaning (and getting lectured on all i'm not doing at the same time). Sigh. Off to clean the bathroom perhaps.
